Who Qualifies for a Free Government iPhone?
To receive a free iPhone through our program, you must qualify for both the Lifeline and Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). You can qualify in two ways:
Program Participation
If anyone in your household participates in certain government assistance programs, you automatically qualify.
Income-Based
If your household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, you qualify.

Qualifying Government Assistance Programs
If anyone in your household participates in any of these programs, you automatically qualify:
- SNAP (Food Stamps): Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
- Medicaid: State health insurance program for low-income individuals
- SSI: Supplemental Security Income
- WIC: Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children
- Federal Public Housing Assistance: Section 8, Public Housing, etc.
- Lifeline Program: If you already receive Lifeline benefits
- Tribal Programs: Bureau of Indian Affairs programs, Tribal TANF, Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations
- Free or Reduced-Price School Lunch: National School Lunch Program
- Federal Pell Grant: Must be received in the current award year
Income-Based Eligibility
If your household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, you qualify. Here are the income limits for 2024:

Note: For households with more than 8 people, add $10,560 for each additional person.
Additional Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years old (or an emancipated minor)
- Only one Lifeline benefit per household
- You must provide proof of eligibility when applying
- You must recertify your eligibility annually
What You'll Need to Apply
When you're ready to apply, have the following documents ready:
- Proof of identity (driver's license, state ID, passport, etc.)
- Proof of address (utility bill, lease agreement, etc.)
- Proof of income (tax return, pay stubs, benefit letter) OR proof of program participation (benefit letter, award letter)
- Social Security Number or Tribal ID
